Our flagship tour (2.5 hours long with a lunch stop) shares about the history of the Japanese community in Portland, surrounded by the iconic cherry trees along the Willamette River.
Come join our flagship tour this spring! This tour is approximately 1.2 miles and 2.5 hours (with a 45 minute lunch break) and shares about the origins of the Japanese American community in the Portland area, their experience of being incarcerated during World War II, and the cultural connections with Japan that brought the iconic cherry trees to the Portland Waterfront.

    • Food & drinks

    There is a lunch stop at a local Japanese food establishment as part of the tour, but guests are responsible for purchasing their own food and drink. The price of food is affordable by Portland standards and should range from approximately $12-20 per person.

      What to bring

        Bring/wear comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a water bottle, layers, and a rain jacket just in case it gets rainy! Bring a form of payment as well (card or cash) to buy lunch during our lunch stop.
